The Pantone Colour Institute has once again announced its colour of the year, a decision that will no doubt influence the design choices of 2019.
What is the Colour of the Year?
Introducing Living Coral. As described by Pantone the colour is an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge. This uplifting warm orange tone with a hint of bubble-gum pink is sure to shake up the design trends of 2019.
How to incorporate Living Coral
Though the use of the coral can be drastic amongst traditional kitchen interiors, we suggest that Living Coral can create a sophisticated impact, similar to darker tones without making the space smaller due to its brighter quality.
Painting a single wall is a great way to refresh an outdated space. The colour would also work well in an integrated kitchen-living spaces allowing a fluid transition from one room to another.
Accessories or smaller painted areas are another way of including the colour without a huge commitment.
From doors to chairs, bowls to lighting, there is an infinite number of ways this colour can be introduced to a kitchen space.
